Pharmakon
Crawling on Bruised Knees (Harlot Rotor remix)
Death Industrial, Power Electronics
For me, the most enticing thing in the genre has always been vocal modulation effects and this song's vocal approach is one of those exemplary pipelines that route the human voice towards brooding violence and inescapable confrontation. I have been meaning to "cover" it for a long time. I would have written some more words on Pharmakon's music but a more thorough relisten of her discography is required before I can feasibly do that.
Remix log: The instrumental is subtly pushed towards the looming decay obsession of death industrial music compared to the more direct confrontation of Pharmakon's original. The vocals I did changed the trajectory from the lyrical discernibility of the original towards, again, decay obsessed inhumanity of power electronics' moribund sister: death industrial. So the vocals are just another layer that comprises the mortuary drape as you are crawling on bruised knees towards oblivion. Protective kneepads are not included in the package.
